Build Confidence & Self-Defense

At Doggpound MMA, our Kids Boxing program is about more than just learning to throw punches — it’s about building confidence, discipline, and focus that carry over into everyday life.

We teach traditional boxing techniques in a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where kids can grow at their own pace. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already showing interest in combat sports, our experienced coaches will guide them through the fundamentals of stance, striking, defense, and movement while keeping classes fun and engaging.

All Doggpound MMA boxing coaches are registered with Boxing Ontario, ensuring that every class meets provincial standards for safety, instruction, and athlete development.

FAQ

Have more questions? We’ve got answers.

What age can my child start boxing?
What will my child learn in boxing?

Students develop footwork, stance, defense, and punching technique, alongside fitness and conditioning. Classes also teach confidence, discipline, focus, and practical self-defense skills to keep kids safe in and out of the ring.

Is sparring required?

Sparring is optional. Beginners focus on technique, pad work, and drills. Controlled sparring is introduced gradually once a child has mastered the basics and demonstrates proper control and confidence.

What gear does my child need?

For the trial, we provide loaner gloves. Once enrolled, students will need boxing gloves, hand wraps, headgear and a mouthguard.

Can parents watch the class?

Absolutely! Parents are encouraged to watch from the viewing area, seeing their child develop skills and confidence in a safe environment.

Will my child compete?

Competition is optional. Students who wish to compete can join our junior fight team when ready, progressing from beginner-friendly matches to higher-level competitions as they gain skill and confidence.
